Open Systems Architecture
Sharkware's compliance with Open Database Connectivity (ODBC
Level 2) standards simplifies integration with other ODBC compliant
databases such as Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server and Informix.
This database independence gives users a choice of technology
making it easier to scale solutions and utilize other ODBC technology
for integration into existing information systems.
Customization and integration utilizing
an API
Many of our customers have specific needs that are often unique
to their business. Sharkware's API and configurable menus and
toolbar provide a convenient way to meet these needs using standard
development tools such as Visual Basic and Visual C++. This
flexible approach allows customization of the user interface,
integration with other applications and interfaces to data in
other corporate systems, without requiring modification to Sharkware's
core application code.

Sharkware Anywhere utilizes Sybase
SQL Anywhere as its database engine. This advanced client/server
technology significantly outperforms PC databases and is very
scalable in applications such as Sharkware that support remote.

Standard Replication Strategy
Utilizing Sybase SQL Anywhere, Sharkware Anywhere allows database
changes to be sent to and from remote users through a variety
of communications systems:

MAPI mail systems:
This option allows changes to be sent as mail messages using
Microsoft Mail, Microsoft Mail Remote, Microsoft Exchange,
and other MAPI compliant mail systems.

Internet (SMTP):
This option allows changes to be sent through an SMTP interface
utilizing intranets or the internet.

VIM mail systems:
This option allows changes to be sent as mail messages using
cc:Mail, Lotus Notes and other VIM compliant mail systems.

File Transfer:
This option allows you to create compressed files of database
changes to transfer between the central database and remote
users. These files may be sent as attached files with most
electronic mail systems, on-line services, the Internet or
transferred by diskette.
